“Best Meshes I” is a balcony upgrade project located in an Art-Deco apartment building in Shanghai French Concession. The client demands a place to sit and chat, a place to grow plenty of plants, as well as a chicken coop for dozens of Luding chicken. A set of mesh wire table and chair, a shelf, a climbing shelf are created. Soil will be filled in the bottom of these objects to grow vines and other plants. These living pants will determine the look of these mesh wire objects as time goes by, making the balcony a living ecosystem for all creatures with human included.
